The mission

Inherit the Past and Usher in the Future, Lasting Establishment in Malaysia, Expanding to the World

In 1920, 18 Chinese industry leaders founded the [Hang Tuan] which is now known as The Federation
of Malaysia Chinese Commerce Association (FEMACGA).

The main objective of the association were to organize programs and activities to bring closer
relationship between community leaders from various industries, protecting the interest and
promoting a favorable business environment for the Chinese merchants and businesses. FEMACGA set up a school that provides education opportunity to the young generation.

1954, the Registration of Societies approved the registration of Selangor Federation of Chinese Commerce Association and since played an important role in politics, economy, culture and education and culture issue, cultivate friendly relationship, unity and create better opportunities amongst the members. In 2003, the association expanded its growth and was renamed as [Hang Tuan Zong Hui] while remained its English name as “The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Commerce Association” (FEMACGA).

The Association held the 1st Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award in 2013 after its transformation. The Awards is to recognize and honor the excelling entrepreneur leader and share their successful stories as example to encourage and give inspiration in order to motivate other entrepreneur elevating their business brings the country economy growth together. In 2015 & 2017 had successfully organized 2nd & 3rd Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award.

To be in lined with transformation and internationalization, the association change its Chinese name
and remain its english name as “The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Guilds Association (FEMACGA)”
The association believe through the transformation that build the brand new image and strong
reputation bring the member growth internationally together. The associate had been appointed as
consultant of the Secretariat for the Advancement of Malaysia Entrepreneurs (SAME) under the Prime Minister’s Department (PMO). Besides that the association had also been appointed on the promotion and verification on the RM100 million Chinese Small Medium Enterprise Grant which is allocated by the Federal Government.

Today FEMACCA been expended and consist with 116 affiliate member association. Besides, FEMACCA have setup a business school to provide wide rage business training, at the same time signed the strategic partner agreement with TussStar Malaysia to create a platform and opportunities for entrepreneur business exchange and collaboration with China to help the country economy growth.

The Federation of Malaysia Chinese Commerce Association (FEMACGA) will be holding the 4th Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award and the second Malaysian Brand Award to commend local outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurs for their exceptional spirit of entrepreneurship. At the same time, we also hope that their experience of entrepreneurship, business-keeping, brand creation, innovation and reform, could serve as learning models for future generations of entrepreneurs.

FEMACGA had presented the Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award to 59 successful entrepreneurs over the past three instalments, while a total of 59 well-known brands have received the Malaysian Brand Award. These winners included Malaysian Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as Malaysian Chinese entrepreneurs who are based in Malaysia but have expanded globally. These successful pioneers, who had to deal with changes in the market environment and faced challenges due to the transformation of global business models, are the pride of all Malaysians. They are celebrated not only for their courageous fighting spirit and unparalleled business wisdom but for the generosity in fulfilling their corporate social responsibility and giving back to society. On top of that, they made significant and recognizable contributions to promote Malaysia's economic development.

Their achievements are inspirations for and boost the confidence of future generations of entrepreneurs. In order to create a market of our own, we need both the ambition to create new opportunities and the wisdom as well as courage to change in the new era.

Founded in 1920, FEMACGA will be celebrating its centennial anniversary. Over the past 100 years, FEMACGA had witnessed the vicissitudes of life experienced by Chinese businessmen in our country and played a major role to in uniting leading players of all industries to overcome the adversities of times by breaking through difficulties while creating new opportunities. Throughout history, FEMACGA accompanied its members through thick and thin and together we had done our best to achieve mutually-beneficial cooperation and common development, creating the unique economic ecology of our country today.

FEMACGA remains dedicated to his founding principles until today. It has been relentlessly in using its organizational strength, network and influences to build a business platform for members from all industry backgrounds, and to work hand in hand with Chinese businessmen, sharing both hardships
and achievements.

Based on this, we hope to honour the contributions of outstanding entrepreneurs through the Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award, giving them the highest affirmation and encouragement and to spread the spirit of "inheriting the past and ushering in the future". We sincerely invite Malaysian entrepreneurs to respond positively to the 4th Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award and the 2nd Malaysian Brand Award. We also call on associations from all walks of life to recommend outstanding entrepreneurs and companies with outstanding brands. It is hoped that with this joint efforts, we could make both the Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award and the Malaysian Brand Award a success to encourage Malaysian entrepreneurs and brands to shine on the international stage!

The 4th Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award and the 2nd Malaysian Brand Award, organized by the Federation of Malaysia Chinese Guilds Association  (FEMACGA), will be held this year and preparations are under way.

This award is highly recognized across various industries as it pays tribute to outstanding Chinese entrepreneurs and highlights their contributions to national economic development.

Over the years, Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award winners were all leaders and pioneers in their respective industry in Malaysia. These pragmatic, enterprising, courageous, and insightful entrepreneurs had created brilliant achievements for themselves and their enterprises.

We believe the Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Award and the Malaysian Brand Award can help small and medium-sized enterprises in Malaysia to set longer-term goals and build platforms, while boosting their confidence and vision to compete internationally, so that they could steadily create a lasting
presence in Malaysia as they expand into the world.

Dato’ Sri Lee Ee Hoe, JP (Apple Vacation Group) 

In 1996, Dato' Sri Lee Ee Hoe and Dato' Sri Koh Yock Heng, two Japanese students from Malaysia established the travel agency known as "Apple Vacations". With an initial investment of RM 15,000, Dato' Sri Lee Ee Hoe, serving as the managing director, was determined to foster the growth of Apple Vacations and transform it into a leading "Malaysian Fun Travel Agency" from the very beginning.
The two founders grew up in the small town of Yong Peng in the state of Johor, Malaysia. They studied together in Japan and, for the past 18 years, have remained dedicated to the original mission of their venture. They have continuously explored new attractions and distinguished themselves in providing immersive themed travel experiences, making Apple Vacations the largest tourism group in Malaysia and a benchmark travel agency for domestic travel brands.
In recent years, Apple Vacations has transformed into the Apple Vacation Group, comprising five major business sectors: tourism, hospitality, media and information services (101 Media), food and beverage, and real estate. The group has expanded its business industry chain and developed into a regional tourism group. It has established branches in Indonesia and Singapore and plans to set up branches in other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Future Plans

Currently, the Apple Vacation Group has set its corporate goal as "Apple Vision 2018," aiming to become a renowned employer in the domestic tourism industry with 500 employees and 100 professional tour guides. The group also aims to achieve a revenue of RM 1 billion by 2018 and ensure that its employees receive an annual salary of at least RM 60,000 or more. The ultimate goal of this vision is to take the Apple Group public. Dato' Sri Lee Ee Hoe, the Managing Director of the Apple Group, stated that going public is a commitment to both customers and employees, signifying that Apple has reached a stable stage and is a recognized brand. Going public would be an ideal milestone.
